Nineteen 22 was built on a legacy that began long before the winery itself. The Ledbetter family’s agricultural story stretches back to the early 20th century, when Keith Ledbetter returned from serving in World War II and came home to work the family’s California farmland. His shift into winegrapes laid the foundation for the multigenerational heritage that inspires Nineteen 22 today.
A Legacy Grown, A Future Crafted
As Keith stepped back from day-to-day farming, his sons John and Jim expanded the family’s footprint in California winegrapes, carrying forward the principles he instilled; humility, service, and long-term partnership. Their leadership helped shape the region’s wine industry and created the agricultural foundation that makes Nineteen 22 possible today. Now, the third generation continues that work, ensuring the family’s legacy lives on through a modern, production-focused custom crush winery built for future producers.
